Job summary

Simmons & Simmons in London is seeking a Learning & Development Manager to lead the Associate and Supervising Associate Promotion Schools and set the strategic direction for the firm’s global skills academy, ‘stars’, working with external providers to design effective training.

You will shape AI-enabled learning, manage the L&D budget, measure ROI, and collaborate with senior stakeholders, Marketing & Business Development, and client teams to deliver impactful programmes.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years in an L&D role, ideally in legal or professional services.
• Experience with psychometric instruments is a plus.
• Excellent training and facilitation skills for in-person and virtual delivery.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Excellent communicator with senior stakeholders and adaptable communication style.
• International & commercially focused mindset.
• Confident using AI/agents in day-to-day work to improve quality and efficiency.
• Excellent IT skills including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Associate and Supervising Associate Promotion Schools.
• Set strategic direction for the firm's global skills academy, ‘stars’.
• Collaborate with external suppliers to design and deliver workshops and training interventions.
• Develop evaluation methods to measure ROI of training interventions.
• Manage L&D budget and negotiate discounts with suppliers.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Business Development and client contacts to deliver client training interventions.
• Design and facilitate in-house sessions and panel discussions as needed.
