Job summary

A tutoring agency is seeking a compassionate and patient Home Tutor for a Key Stage 4 student in Gosport. This rewarding role requires delivering 1:1 tuition at the student's home, focusing on English and Maths. The ideal candidate will have experience with KS3/KS4 learners, especially in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. You should have strong communication skills and the ability to adapt lessons to individual learning styles and needs. Hours are flexible, with 4 hours per week available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience working with young people.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
• Up-to-date Safeguarding Training (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured, 1:1 tuition in an emotionally safe environment.
• Build a positive, trusting relationship to foster engagement.
• Tailor sessions to the student's current level and learning style.
• Use creative strategies to overcome barriers to learning.
• Track progress and adapt approach as needed.
