Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a patient KS3 tutor to re-engage a Year 9 student returning after a year out of school. The role focuses on English and Maths support, with an emphasis on building confidence and trust.

The tutor will use trauma-informed methods, baseline assessments, and personalised learning plans to close gaps and enable steady progress, while adapting to the student’s pace and needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months' experience in education, childcare, or related setting.
• Experience supporting children and young people with ADHD and ASD.
• Ability to deliver a trauma-informed approach to learning.
• Confident in conducting baseline assessments to identify skill gaps.
• Able to develop and implement personalised learning programmes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver KS3 tutoring for a Year 9 student in English and Maths.
• Conduct baseline assessments and track progress.
• Develop and implement personalised learning plans to close gaps.
• Prioritise relationship-building, trust, and emotional wellbeing.
• Support the student to rebuild confidence and achieve steady progress.
