Job summary

SEND Recruitment is seeking a passionate KS3/4 Tutor specialising in Maths and English to inspire students not currently in education, delivering tailored sessions that build confidence and understanding. You will support learners across Key Stage 3 and 4 with engaging teaching methods and a patient, empathetic approach.

You will run face-to-face tuition, receive protected planning and administration time each week, and work with schools and guardians to track progress and tailor learning plans

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience with secondary-aged learners.
• Experience supporting learners with SEND and/or SEMH.
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver personalised learning programmes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and personalised tutoring sessions in Maths and English for KS3/KS4 students.
• Deliver set hours of face-to-face tuition per week.
• Receive an additional 1 hour of paid planning and administration time each week.
• Assess individual student needs and develop tailored lesson plans.
• Support students with exam preparation, homework and coursework.
• Foster a positive learning environment encouraging participation and confidence.
• Track student progress and provide feedback to students, parents and staff.
• Collaborate with schools, local authorities or guardians to ensure consistent support.

Duties

• Assess individual student needs and develop tailored lesson plans to address gaps and reinforce strengths
• Support students with exam preparation, homework, and coursework to improve understanding and performance
• Foster a positive learning environment that encourages active participation and confidence-building
• Track student progress regularly, providing feedback to students, parents, and relevant staff
• Collaborate with school, local authority or guardians to ensure consistent support for each student’s educational goals.

Requirements
