Job summary

SANZA Teaching Agency is working with a welcoming primary school in Hackney seeking a dedicated Year 4 Teaching Assistant to join from November. This role combines targeted small-group intervention with general classroom support, helping pupils progress in Key Stage 2 while building strong relationships.

You will co-deliver an alternative learning programme for a small group of four children, support lessons and behaviour management, and work closely with the Year 4 teacher.

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting primary-aged children, preferably KS2.
• Patient, proactive and nurturing approach to diverse learning needs.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration with another Teaching Assistant.
• Flexibility to move between small-group interventions and whole-class support.
• Commitment to developing pupils academically, socially and emotionally.

Responsibilities

• Co-deliver a tailored intervention programme for a small group of four pupils, working toward individual targets.
• Provide general classroom support, assist with lessons and resources, and support behaviour management.
• Promote inclusion, confidence and positive engagement in class and targeted sessions.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and support staff to meet pupils' needs.
• Monitor progress and share feedback on achievements and development areas.

Pay: £100 per day, rising to £124 per day from week 13 under AWR (PAYE)

SANZA Teaching Agency is working with a welcoming primary school in Hackney seeking a dedicated and adaptable Year 4 Teaching Assistant to join their team from November.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants to make a meaningful difference in Key Stage 2. The role combines targeted small-group intervention with general classroom support, allowing you to build strong relationships with pupils while contributing to progress across the wider class.

You will work alongside an experienced Teaching Assistant to deliver an alternative learning programme for a small group of four children, before supporting the Year 4 teacher with day-to-day classroom learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Co-deliver a tailored alternative learning programme for a small group of four pupils, helping them stay engaged and work towards individual targets.
• Provide general classroom support, assisting with lessons, learning resources and behaviour management.
• Promote inclusion, confidence and positive engagement both within the classroom and during targeted sessions.
• Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff to meet pupils' individual needs.
• Monitor progress and share feedback on pupils' achievements and areas for development.

• Previous experience supporting primary-aged children, ideally within Key Stage 2.
• A patient, proactive and nurturing approach to supporting pupils with different learning needs.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with another Teaching Assistant.
• Flexibility to move between small-group interventions and whole-class support.
• A genuine commitment to helping children develop academically, socially and emotionally.
