Job summary

SANZA Teaching Agency is supporting a vibrant primary school in Hackney to recruit a Year 4 Teaching Assistant who blends whole-class support with targeted intervention work.

The role involves co-delivering an alternative learning program for a small group of four children, alongside providing general classroom support to drive progress. This is a long-term, full-time position through July 2027.

Qualifications

• Prior experience supporting children in Key Stage 2 (Year 3 to Year 6) is highly desirable.
• A patient, collaborative team player who will enjoy co-running sessions with another TA.
• The flexibility to easily switch gears between specialized alternative programming and general whole-class support.

Responsibilities

• Targeted Small-Group Support: Collaborate directly with an existing TA to co-deliver an alternative learning program tailored for 4 children, keeping them engaged, motivated, and achieving their individual targets.
• General Classroom Support: Transition smoothly into the wider Year 4 classroom, assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery, resource preparation, and behaviour management.
• Fostering Inclusivity: Ensure that the children on the alternative program feel fully included, supported, and confident both inside and outside the main classroom.
• Progress Tracking: Give feedback to the class teacher and SENDCo on individual milestones, breakthroughs, and areas needing extra attention.

This role offers a fantastic balance: for part of the day, you will collaborate with another experienced TA to deliver a bespoke, alternative learning program to a small group of four children. For the remainder of the day, you will act as a general classroom TA, helping the Year 4 teacher drive progress across the entire class.
