Job summary

SANZA Teaching Agency, part of the Tradewind Recruitment group, is seeking a Year 4 Teaching Assistant to support a Hackney primary school from November. The role combines targeted small-group intervention with classroom support, helping pupils stay engaged and progress in Key Stage 2.

You will work alongside the class teacher and fellow support staff, with pay £100 per day rising to £124 from week 13 under AWR, full-time until July 2027, starting 2 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting primary-aged children, ideally within Key Stage 2.
• Patient, proactive and nurturing approach to supporting pupils with different learning needs.
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with another Teaching Assistant.
• Flexibility to move between small-group interventions and whole-class support.
• Genuine commitment to helping children develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Responsibilities

• Co-deliver a tailored alternative learning programme for a small group of four pupils, helping them stay engaged and work towards individual targets.
• Provide general classroom support, assisting with lessons, learning resources and behaviour management.
• Promote inclusion, confidence and positive engagement both within the classroom and during targeted sessions.
• Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff to meet pupils' individual needs.
• Monitor progress and share feedback on pupils' achievements and areas for development.
