Job summary

Desian Education is recruiting a confident Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3/4 class in a primary school in Runcorn. This full-time, temporary position covers maternity leave with an immediate start for the right candidate.

You will lead small-group interventions, reinforce core curriculum learning and implement positive behaviour strategies to create a productive learning environment, supporting pupils with emotional regulation and challenging behaviours as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong curriculum knowledge across Key Stage 2
• Excellent behaviour management skills with pupils who have challenging behaviours
• Resilient, patient and calm under pressure

Responsibilities

• Lead small-group interventions to support pupils’ progress across the curriculum.
• Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and effective learning opportunities.
• Implement positive behaviour management strategies to encourage positive choices and classroom engagement.
• Provide consistent support to pupils who require additional help with their learning and behaviour.
• Adapt to the needs of the wider school, supporting Year 5 and Year 6 classes when required
