Job summary

Desian Education is partnering with a single-form entry primary school in Winsford to recruit an experienced teaching assistant for EYFS & KS1 on a long-term full-time basis for the new term.

The role supports reception and KS1 pupils, including those with additional learning needs, across 1:1 and small group settings. You will work with teachers to promote engagement, learning and focus throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Experience as a teaching assistant in EYFS/KS1.
• Ability to support pupils with additional learning needs both 1:1 and in small groups.
• Willingness to deliver phonics interventions using the RWI scheme.
• Ability to promote engagement and positive behaviour in class.

Responsibilities

• Deliver phonics interventions using the RWI scheme.
• Deliver small group interventions in core subjects.
• Intense 1:1 interventions with lower ability pupils.
• Promote engagement and focus by breaking down lesson material and applying positive behaviour strategies.

Desian Education are proud to be working in partnerships with a single-form entry primary school in Winsford that is at the heart of it’s local community as they require an experienced and dedicated teaching assistant to join their EYFS & KS1 team on a long-term full-time basis for the new term.

This is a full-time temporary position that will last the remainder of the academic year (subject to funding). In this role you will support across the reception and KS1 classes, supporting pupils of mixed/lower ability, some of which having additional learning needs on a 1:1 and small group basis.

Your new role:

As a teaching assistant within this school, you will be working across the reception and year 1 classes, working collaboratively with the teachers to promote all aspects of engagement, learning and focus. You will lead on 1:1 and small group support for pupils of mixed and lower ability, including those with additional learning needs. A small group of pupils within these classes can at times become disruptive and disengaged with learning so you will also encourage engagement at all times. Other duties will include:

• Delivering phonics interventions using the RWI scheme
• Delivery small group interventions in core subjects
• Intense 1:1 interventions with lower ability pupils within a breakout room
• Promoting engagement and focus by breaking down lessons material and implementing positive behaviour strategies
