Prospero Teaching are working with a mainstream primary school in Stockport seeking an experienced KS2 teacher for a maternity cover starting in November 2026. The role is in a KS2/class environment with planning responsibilities and a focus on SEN support.

The candidate should have UK QTS, recent KS2 experience, and a strong commitment to safeguarding. The position offers full-time hours and a 8.30am–3.30pm schedule with local accountability and professional development.

Qualifications

• UK QTS and right to work in the UK (no sponsorship)
• Recent UK KS2 teaching experience
• Strong SEN knowledge
• Confident classroom management and organisation
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare

Responsabilités

• Take full responsibility for a KS2 class
• Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons aligned to the National Curriculum
• Support children with SEN
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants in the classroom
• Create a positive, supportive classroom environment
• Engage with parents and carers to review pupil progress
• Attend staff meetings and CPD as required

Location: Stockport
Salary: GBP160 - GBP270 per day depending on experience
Hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm

Prospero Teaching are working with a mainstream primary school in Stockport who are looking for an experienced teacher for their upcoming maternity cover position. The role is expected to start in early November 2026 and you would be working in a KS2 class.

KS2 Teacher - responsibilities

• Take on full responsibility for a KS2 class
• Be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging and inclusive lessons in line with the National Curriculum
• Be confident supporting children with SEN
• Work closely with the Teaching Assistants in the classroom
• Creating a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes learning and personal development
• Work with parents and carers to ensure pupil progress
• Participation in staff meetings, CPD, and wider school life as required

KS2 Teacher - requirements

• Right to Work in the UK - no sponsorship available

• Recent UK classroom experience
• Recent experience teaching KS2
• Strong SEN knowledge
• Confident classroom management and organisation
