Job summary

St Laurence-in-Thanet CE Junior Academy is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Years 3-6, delivering targeted interventions and phonics support. You will work across KS2, assess progress and provide feedback to teachers, contributing to a caring, high standards-based environment.

Hours are 8.30-3.30, Monday-Friday, term-time only (including INSET days). Experience with Read Write Inc and Thrive approach is valued, with safeguarding at the core of daily responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Recent and relevant KS2 experience is essential.
• Experience delivering structured interventions to individuals and small groups.
• Strong ability to deliver phonics interventions, ideally Read Write Inc.
• Identify gaps, follow intervention programmes, adapt support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils in English, Maths and across the KS2 curriculum.
• Planning for and delivering targeted interventions for individuals and small groups, following agreed programmes and approaches.
• Delivering regular phonics and early reading interventions, including Read Write Inc where appropriate.
• Assessing and recording progress, identifying next steps and feeding back effectively to teachers and the SENCo.
• Supporting pupils with additional needs to access learning and develop independence.
• Supporting at break and lunchtimes and contributing to wider school life.
