Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEND school in Bromley. You will support pupils aged 7-19 in a small KS2 class, assisting with communication difficulties and a range of SEND. Makaton/PECS experience is highly desirable.

Hours are 8:30am-4:00pm, term-time only, with a full-time, temp-to-perm contract and daily pay from £92.63. This is an exciting chance to work alongside an experienced SEND Teacher in a well-resourced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND, Autism (ASD), speech and language needs, or complex learning needs.
• Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or alternative communication methods.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND on a 1:1 and small-group basis within the classroom.
• Assist pupils with communication, learning, and social development.
• Use Makaton and/or PECS to support communication and engagement.
• Support pupils with accessing lessons and participating in classroom activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
