Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a well-established SEND school near Kidderminster. The role supports pupils aged 4–19 with PMLD and complex needs in a compassionate, inclusive setting.

Working Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm, you will assist with learning, personal care where required, and help pupils access opportunities to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children, young people, or individuals with additional needs.
• Patient, caring and proactive approach.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 4:00pm).

Axcis Education is recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a well-established Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school near Kidderminster. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for a compassionate and dedicated individual looking to support children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex additional needs. The school is committed to helping pupils achieve their full potential academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. This is a full-time Teaching Assistant job, starting in September, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm. The successful candidate will support pupils aged 4–19 years, helping them access learning, develop independence, and thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

• Support children and young people aged 4-19 with SEND and complex learning needs
• Work closely with pupils with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties)
• Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support
• Assist with learning activities, communication, and personal development
• Build positive and meaningful relationships with pupils
• Help create a calm, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
• Support with personal care where required
• Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children, young people, or individuals with additional needs
• A patient, caring, and proactive approach
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• Comfortable providing personal care support
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 4:00pm)

Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
