Job description

Location: Ealing, London Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday Start Date: September 2025 (Full Academic Year) Type of School: Special School (Ages 4–18) Pupils on Roll: 130 | Sex: Mixed | Religion: Non-Denominational | Boarding: No | Nursery: No Ofsted Rating: Good Axcis Education is seeking a committed and empathetic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive Special School in Ealing this September. This is a full-time, term-time-only role for the full academic year, supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). The school prides itself on a positive, caring, and high-expectation environment, where each student is known individually and supported to thrive both personally and academically. With a focus on celebrating every achievement, the school encourages all pupils to flourish socially, emotionally, and intellectually. Key Responsibilities: -Provide 1:1 and group support to pupils with a variety of SEND, including PMLD -Assist with personal care needs (toileting, feeding, hygiene), maintaining student dignity and comfort -Support class teachers in delivering an adapted and inclusive curriculum -Implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) -Encourage and support positive learning, behaviour, and communication -Promote student independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing -Work collaboratively with school staff, therapists, and families Essential Requirements: -Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (must be in place before starting) -Experience working in a special school or similar setting -Comfortable supporting students with a wide range of needs, including: -ASD, SEMH, SpLD, SLCN, SLD, MLD, PMLD, VI, HI, MSI, PD, OTH -Confident with personal care routines and supporting physical needs -Patient, reliable, and passionate about supporting students with SEND Desirable: -Teaching Assistant or SEN qualification -Experience supporting children aged 4–18 in an SEN environment What the School Offers: -A welcoming and Good-rated SEN school environment -A culture focused on student-centred, tailored support -A strong, experienced, and caring staff team -Opportunities for professional growth and ongoing training -Competitive pay and ongoing support from Axcis Education
