Job summary

Monarch Education is seeking a dedicated KS2 Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a welcoming primary school in Shirehampton, Bristol. You’ll work alongside experienced teachers, helping pupils across Key Stage 2 reach their learning goals and build confidence.

The role is full-time, long-term with an immediate start, running 8:30am-3:30pm Monday to Friday, and includes ongoing guidance from a specialist education consultant and access to safeguarding training.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting primary-aged children in a school setting.
• Good understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
• Patient, positive and enthusiastic attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across Key Stage 2 within the classroom.
• Work with small groups and individual children to reinforce learning.
• Assist with the delivery of literacy, numeracy, and foundation subjects.
• Support children with varying learning needs and behaviours.
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
• Build relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Assist with classroom preparation and resource organisation.
• Collaborate with the class teacher to monitor pupil progress.

The Role

As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils across Key Stage 2 within the classroom.


• Work with small groups and individual children to reinforce learning and improve attainment.


• Assist with the delivery of engaging lessons in literacy, numeracy, and foundation subjects.


• Support children with varying learning needs and abilities.


• Help promote positive behaviour and engagement in learning.


• Encourage independence, confidence, and resilience.


• Provide targeted interventions where required.


• Assist with classroom preparation and resource organisation.


• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.


• Work closely with the class teacher to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
