Job summary

Long Term Futures are seeking experienced and compassionate KS2 SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming primary school in Nuneaton, CV10. Start dates from October half-term break; roles involve supporting pupils across KS2 with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and behavioural regulation difficulties.

You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide 1:1 SEN support, small-group interventions and general classroom assistance, helping pupils access learning, manage their emotions and develop

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school or SEN setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD and/or ADHD.
• Experience providing 1:1 SEN support and general classroom assistance.
• Experience working with KS2 pupils (Years 3-6).
• Knowledge of SEMH, behavioural regulation and positive behaviour strategies isBeneficial.
• Ability to adapt learning activities for pupils with additional needs.
• Familiarity with visual timetables, Now & Next boards or sensory strategies is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group SEN support across KS2.
• Support pupils with ASD, ADHD and additional learning needs.
• Assist the class teacher with general classroom support and learning activities.
• Support children with SEMH needs and emotional or behavioural regulation difficulties.
• Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies where appropriate.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and abilities.
• Help pupils develop attention, concentration and engagement with learning.
• Use structured routines, visual timetables and sensory strategies.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interactions.
• Support pupils with transitions and daily classroom routines.
• Work towards individual learning targets and EHCP outcomes.
• Monitor pupil progress and work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO.
