Job summary

Teaching Personnel seeks a resilient SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil with SEMH needs in Darlington. You will monitor emotions, assist with learning, and work closely with the classroom team to ensure a supportive environment.

You will collaborate with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionals to implement individual plans and promote inclusion and resilience in a challenging yet rewarding setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH or challenging behaviour.
• Calm, patient, and consistent under pressure.
• Strong behaviour management strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with SEMH needs.
• Support emotional regulation and behaviour.
• Build trusting, positive relationship with pupil.
• Assist with academic engagement across KS2 curriculum.
• Collaborate with class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals.
• Promote inclusion, independence and resilience.
