Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking a dedicated KS2 SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Wirral. The role focuses on providing individualized support to a student with special educational needs, adapting materials and implementing IEPs to help the child access the curriculum.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO, fostering an inclusive environment and monitoring progress to inform staff and parents.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEN students in an educational setting.
• Knowledge of KS2 curriculum and teaching approaches.
• Excellent communication and rapport with students, staff and families.
• Patience, resilience and proactive problem-solving.
• Childcare or education-related qualifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with SEN within a KS2 classroom.
• Adapt lesson materials to ensure the student can access the curriculum.
• Implement IEPs in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment supporting social and academic development.
• Monitor progress, record observations and provide feedback to staff and parents.
• Support the student with emotional regulation and personal care as needed.
