Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an enthusiastic KS1 Primary Teacher for regular supply work across primary schools in the NG16 area. You will deliver engaging KS1 lessons, support early reading and phonics, and adapt teaching to meet diverse learning needs.

The role offers flexibility around your availability, with a focus on building positive relationships, maintaining high teaching standards, and safeguarding pupils. A warm, patient approach and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• Experience teaching KS1 in UK primary schools is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and phonics.
• Excellent communication skills and safeguarding commitment.
• Reliable, adaptable attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum.
• Support early reading, phonics, writing and numeracy.
• Adapt teaching to meet different learning needs (including SEND).
• Create a positive classroom with clear routines and expectations.
• Assess pupils’ understanding and provide constructive feedback.
• Work with support staff to help every child participate.
• Follow each school's policies and ensure continuity of learning.

• A reliable, adaptable attitude and a strong work ethic.
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to safeguarding.
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
