Job summary

The Graduate Network seeks a KS1 Learning Mentor to provide personalised support to Year 1 and Year 2 pupils in a Birmingham primary school. You will work alongside class teachers to deliver targeted interventions and foster confidence in early learners.

This full-time, temporary role runs immediately until July 2027, offering £85-£100 per day based in the Selly Oak ward. A degree in any subject is required, with a genuine interest in primary education and a calm, nurturing approach.

Qualifications

• Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
• Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
• Desire to work in education/with children – A genuine interest in supporting young learners and pursuing a career in education.

Responsibilities

• Deliver focused 1:1 and small group interventions across KS1 (Year 1 and Year 2).
• Support phonics, reading, writing, and early maths as part of a holistic learning plan.
• Provide emotional and behavioural guidance to create a positive learning environment.
