Job summary

The Graduate Network is seeking a KS1 Learning Mentor for an immediate start at a primary school in Birmingham. You will support Year 1 and Year 2 pupils, delivering targeted interventions in phonics, reading and early maths, while providing emotional and behavioural support.

This is a daily rate role for gaining valuable experience ahead of teacher training. The role requires a degree with at least a 2:2, strong communication, and a calm, nurturing approach to working with young children.

Qualifications

• Degree - 2:2 or above in any subject.
• Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
• Desire to work in education/with children.
• Experience in a school, nursery, or with children is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver focused interventions in phonics, reading, writing, and early maths.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support across KS1 (Year 1 and 2).
• Offer emotional and behavioural support to pupils as needed.
• Collaborate with class teachers to create a positive learning environment.
