Job summary

The Graduate Network is seeking a KS1 Learning Mentor for an immediate start in a Ward of Selly Oak school in the United Kingdom. You will work with teachers to support Year 1 and Year 2 pupils, delivering targeted interventions in phonics, reading and early maths.

You will also provide emotional and behavioural support to learners, helping create a calm, nurturing classroom that promotes confidence and independence. Prior school or childcare experience is valued but not required.

Qualifications

• A 2:2 degree or above in any subject.
• Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Interest in primary education and early learning.
• Experience with children in school, nursery or similar setting desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver focused interventions in phonics, reading, writing and early maths.
• Work 1:1 and in small groups across KS1 (Year 1 and Year 2).
• Provide emotional and behavioural support to pupils.
• Collaborate with class teachers to create a positive learning environment.
