Job summary

Village Hotels – Walsall is seeking an energetic Sous Chef and Kitchen Team Leader to bridge the Head Chef's vision with a busy service. You will own your section, lead on the pass, and ensure every plate meets our exact standards for quality, temperature, and presentation.

As part of the kitchen brigade you will coach junior teammates, manage stock and waste, uphold HACCP and brand standards, and support the wider team during peak periods.

Responsibilities

• The Kitchen Floor: Hands-on Sous Chef, run your section, manage flow and assist others when tickets pile up.
• The Standards: Ensure food safety, temperature checks, HACCP and EHO compliance, brand standards upheld.
• The Brigade: Supervise and coach junior kitchen staff and KPs, translate strategy into action, promote safety with heavy equipment.
• The Commercial Reality: Protect gross profit, manage stock to par levels, minimize wastage, keep stock take paperwork up to date.
