Job summary

Hotel Indigo Cardiff is seeking a Kitchen Team Leader to guide our team of chefs, maintaining high standards in service, hygiene and efficiency across all kitchen operations. You will lead food preparation, mentor staff, and collaborate with restaurant and bar teams to deliver a seamless dining experience for guests, with emphasis on quality and consistency.

Previous chef leadership experience, strong communication, and a passion for great hospitality are essential; a positive, flexible approach

Qualifications

• Previous chef experience in a kitchen leadership role.
• Strong team management and communication skills.
• Positive can-do approach.
• Passion for high-quality food and service.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Confident to deliver up to date food safety and hygiene regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support all chefs in daily operations.
• Ensure dish quality, presentation, and consistency meet guest and hotel expectations.
• Assist with stock planning, control and ordering.
• Maintain health & safety and food hygiene practices across the department.
• Assist with menu development across breakfast, dinner and events.
• Train and mentor chefs, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Work closely with the restaurant and bar teams to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
• Monitor kitchen financial performance and implement cost-control measures to deliver against budget.
