Job summary

Away Resorts is seeking a capable kitchen lead to oversee the Back of House on shift, ensuring meals are prepared to standard and served promptly.

You will work with Line Chefs and Kitchen Assistants, managing stock, margins, and safety policies while coaching team members to excel in a fast-paced, on-park environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Back of House (BOH) on shift and act as main point of contact for the team

• Identify development needs and provide coaching and support to team members

Job description

Someone who can lead through our teams, to engage them and set attainable goals; someone that finds solutions to problems and communicates well with both management team as well as the supporting team members. You will need to be resilient, used to high pace/high volume, but someone that thrives under pressure and manages to keep their head and help those that need support, even in the busiest of shifts. Who we are? We are a very busy pub in the new forest that pride ourselves on delivering great food out to our guests quickly. We drive high volume, end even higher volume in our peak summer months, but we work together and always keep a positive attitude. Being a holiday park, we have a diversity of guests coming through our doors but our standards never change, we offer a classic menu with a few twists to reflect the tastes of all that visit our parks. Being the main F&B destination on site, we serve food from 9am through to 9pm, with that there are a variety of shift types available, but never a split (unless requested!) or and all day.

• Supporting the kitchen management team in overseeing all aspects of the Back of House (BOH) operation and being the main point of contact on shift
• Preparing and cooking meals with the assistance of Line Chefs and Kitchen Assistants and ensuring the team comply to the agreed specifications of all the dishes
• Helping to control food margins through effective stock management
• Championing and implementing health and safety and hygiene policies to ensure team and guest safety
• Identifying the development needs of team members and providing coaching and support to them

We need someone who can lead and inspire a busy kitchen team; someone who understands that food is central to a happy holiday. Someone who is driven, is passionate in delivering standards and enjoys the camaraderie of teamwork is essential for this role; we get busy, but we never forget why we love what we do.
