Job summary

Billesley Manor Hotel & Spa, a historic 4-star country house hotel, is seeking a reliable Kitchen Porter to support our busy kitchen team in Stratford-upon-Avon. You will help maintain high cleanliness and organisation, wash dishes, and assist chefs with basic prep, contributing to a smooth service and guest experience.

The role requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a positive attitude and reliability.

• Keep kitchen and storage areas clean and organised.
• Receive, store and rotate deliveries per food safety guidelines.

Job description

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking, and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our busy hotel kitchen team. As a key member of the kitchen brigade, you will provide essential support to our chefs by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and efficiency, helping us deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests.,

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen and back-of-house areas.
• Wash and clean crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate the dishwasher and ensure all items are cleaned and stored correctly.
• Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks when required.
• Keep kitchen areas, floors, storage areas, and equipment clean and organised.
• Dispose of waste and recycling safely in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Receive, store, and rotate deliveries following food safety guidelines.
• Ensure cleaning supplies and kitchen areas are well stocked.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Follow all health and safety, food hygiene, and HACCP procedures.
• Maintain a safe working environment by reporting hazards or equipment issues promptly.
• Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Ability to carry out physical tasks, including lifting, standing, and working in a busy kitchen environment.
