Job summary

Soho House is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support hygiene and safety in the kitchen, cleaning and maintaining kitchenware, and assisting with waste disposal and cleanliness across back-of-house areas.

Ideal candidates have up to 2 years’ experience in a busy venue, reliable and flexible to work shifts. The role requires attention to detail and teamwork to ensure smooth operations during service.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Reliability, discretion, and a professional attitude.
• Flexibility to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitise all kitchen items including pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and glassware.
• Operate commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment in line with safety protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workspaces and storage areas.
• Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately and keep areas tidy during shifts.
• Follow Food Safety and Health & Safety policies in line with UK regulations (HACCP).
• Support the kitchen by replenishing stock and reporting low supplies during peak times.
• Handle equipment carefully to minimise breakages and maintain inventory.
