Job summary

Soho House is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and back-of-house areas. You will wash and sanitise items, operate dishwashing equipment, and help maintain storage spaces in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have up to 2 years in a busy venue, are reliable, and flexible to work various shifts. The role includes benefits and ongoing training in food safety, with opportunities to participate in team events and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Reliability, discretion, and a professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Wash, rinse, and sanitise all kitchen items including pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and glassware in line with daily operational needs.
• Operate commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workspaces and storage areas.
• Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately, ensuring bins are emptied and areas are kept clean and tidy throughout the shift.
• Adhere to all Food Safety and Health & Safety policies and practices in line with UK regulations (including HACCP).
• Follow detailed cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Support the kitchen team by replenishing stock, reporting low supplies, and assisting where required during peak service times.
• Handle kitchen equipment and items carefully to minimise breakages and maintain inventory integrity.
