Job summary

Mitie is recruiting a Catering Assistant for King George Hospital, Ilford. This permanent, part-time role offers 15 hours per week with a pay rate of £11,575 per annum.

You will prepare dining areas, serve meals, keep areas clean, handle cash, and ensure health and safety standards while providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Previous catering experience in a similar environment (desirable).
• Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates (training provided if not held).
• Adequate numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
• Passion for customer service and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Adaptable, detail-oriented, and confident with strong organisational and time management skills.

• Prepare and maintain dining and service areas, including furniture, trolleys, and cleaning equipment.
• Serve food in correct portions and wash dishes, cutlery, and catering equipment.
• Clean all catering areas daily and follow health and safety standards.
• Handle cash collection, banking, and maintain records and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and colleagues to deliver excellent service.
