Job summary

Wilson Vale is recruiting a Kitchen Porter for an independent school in Amersham. This temporary contract covers two school terms, working 32.5 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, 9:30am–4:00pm.

You will support daily meal service, maintain high hygiene standards, and assist with basic food preparation and deliveries while fitting into a team of nine in a private school kitchen.

We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Porter to join our team at one of our independent schoolsin AmershamHP6 5PF.

This is a temporary contract covering two school terms. You'll work 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 9:30am to 4:00pm.

We work in office restaurants, independent schools and at conference venues with the same high-end ethos throughout.

We're looking for a positive, honest and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our friendly and hardworking team. You'll be part of a private school kitchen, supporting the team with the smooth running of the daily meal service and helping to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.

Your duties will include washing dishes, cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas, assisting with basic food preparation, handling deliveries and supporting the wider kitchen team where needed. We offer good training and opportunities for development and progression within the team for the right candidate.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Have experience working in a similar role and environment
• Be highly organised and comfortable working in a high-pressured environment
• Ensure you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
• Keep up standards of hygiene and ensure all areas are clean and tidy
• Have excellent customer service and social skills
• Be responsible for the preparation and serving of food to staff
• Have a can do attitude and will work well as part of a team of 9
• Be customer focused
• Have basic food knowledge
• Be willing to participate and enjoy working part of the team
