Job summary

Wilson Vale is recruiting a Kitchen Porter for one of our workplace restaurants in London. The permanent, 40-hour week runs Monday to Friday, 8am–4:30pm, supporting a busy two-floor City of London operation serving around 200 covers.

The role involves washing up, cleaning equipment and areas, assisting with food preparation and keeping the kitchen clean, safe and well-organised. A positive attitude, strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Porter to join our team at one of our workplace restaurants in London EC2N 4BQ.

This is a permanent role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am until 4:30pm.

Wilson Vale is an established, quality-led contract caterer. We work with amazing clients across the UK who place huge value on great food as a key part of their culture and community. We work in office restaurants, independent schools and at conference venues with the same high-end ethos throughout.

As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of our kitchen, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across our breakfast, lunch and occasional evening events. Working Monday to Friday across our two-floor City of London operation, you’ll support a busy café and hospitality service catering for around 200 covers on a busy midweek day. The role involves washing up, cleaning equipment and work areas, assisting with food preparation and ensuring the kitchen remains clean, safe and organised. We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong attention to detail and a willingness to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Have experience working in a similar role and environment
• Be highly organised and comfortable working in a high-pressured environment
• Ensure you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
• Keep up standards of hygiene and ensure all areas are clean and tidy
• Have excellent customer service and social skills
• Be responsible for the preparation and serving of food to staff
• Have a can do attitude and will work well as part of a team of 12
• Be customer focused
• Have basic food knowledge
• Be willing to participate and enjoy working part of the team
