Job summary

Wilson Vale is seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our team at a conference venue in Cookham. The role offers 40 hours per week across 5 days on a rota, with shifts from early morning to late evening. You will wash dishes, clean equipment, unload deliveries, and assist with stock takes in a busy kitchen.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Porter to join our team at one of our conference venues in Cookham SL6 9QH.

Wilson Vale is an established, quality-led contract caterer. We work with amazing clients across the UK who place huge value on great food as a key part of their culture and community. We work in office restaurants, independent schools and at conference venues with the same high-end ethos throughout.

We are looking for a positive, honest, and reliable individual to join our friendly and hardworking team. For the right candidate, we offer excellent training and opportunities for growth within the business.

As a Kitchen Porter, you will work 40 hours per week across 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis, with shifts varying from early morning starts to late evening finishes. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include washing dishes and kitchen equipment, carrying out general cleaning duties, unloading deliveries, and assisting with stock takes. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, take pride in maintaining high standards, and be flexible and adaptable in a busy kitchen environment.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Have experience working in a similar role and environment
• Be highly organised and comfortable working in a high-pressured environment
• Ensure you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
• Keep up standards of hygiene and ensure all areas are clean and tidy
• Have a can do attitude and will work well as part of a team of 8
• Be customer focused
• Have basic food knowledge
• Be willing to participate and enjoy working part of the team
