Boston Tea Party is seeking a Kitchen Manager to lead one of our kitchens in the UK. You’ll own everything in the kitchen—from people and food to standards and numbers—driving cooking from scratch, training your team, and keeping the guest experience at the heart of every service.
You’ll work daytime hours with a supportive GM, focus on food safety and efficiency, recruit and develop chefs, and help grow the café into a brilliant place to work and a pride for its community.
Boston Tea Party
We’re looking for a brilliant Kitchen Manager to lead one of our Boston Tea Party kitchens.
At Boston, our kitchens are a huge part of what makes us, us. We cook proper food, from scratch, every day — and we need leaders who care just as much about the people making it as the food leaving the pass.
As Kitchen Manager, you’ll take ownership of your kitchen, lead your team through busy services and work side-by-side with your General Manager to make your café a brilliant place to eat and an even better place to work.
And the best bit? This is hospitality without the late nights.
You’ll own everything that happens in your kitchen — your people, your food, your standards and your numbers.
That means you’ll:
Lead, coach and develop a brilliant kitchen team.
Set the pace during busy services and be right there cooking alongside your team.
Make sure every plate leaving your kitchen is something you’re proud to serve.
Recruit great people and develop your chefs to take their next step.
Manage ordering, stock, labour and waste with a strong commercial eye.
Maintain brilliant food safety, cleanliness and kitchen standards.
Work closely with your General Manager to grow the café and deliver a great guest experience.
Create a kitchen culture where people feel supported, challenged and excited to come to work.
Take ownership when things don't go to plan and find ways to make them better.
You might already be a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef or Sous Chef, or you could be an experienced chef who's ready to take ownership of their first kitchen.
We're less interested in fancy job titles and more interested in how you lead.
You'll be someone who:
Fuels Growth
You want your kitchen and your people to keep getting better. You develop others, understand the numbers behind a successful kitchen and always look for the next opportunity to improve.
Leads Responsibly
You care about doing things properly. Food safety, standards, sustainability and looking after your people aren't negotiable — they're simply part of running a great kitchen.
Makes Connections
You're a team player. You build strong relationships with your chefs, your café team and your GM, and understand that the best guest experiences happen when the whole café works together.
We want Boston to be somewhere you can build a career, not just work your next kitchen job.
You'll get a great package of Boston benefits, loads of opportunity to develop and the freedom to put your own stamp on your kitchen.
You'll also get something that's pretty special for a chef: daytime hours.
We're a café business, which means no midnight closes, no finishing service at 11pm and then cleaning down until the early hours. You can build a serious career in food and still have a life outside the kitchen.
Most importantly, we'll give you the opportunity to develop people. We believe great leaders leave the ladder down — helping the people behind them grow, progress and eventually become leaders themselves.
We've been doing things a little differently since 1995.
We care about great food, great hospitality, our communities and doing business in a way we're proud of.
Our kitchens are busy, energetic and full of personality. We don't need shouty chefs or big egos. We need brilliant people who can set high standards, stay calm when the checks are flying in and bring their team with them.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
Come and lead a kitchen you can be proud of.
