Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd is seeking a Kitchen Assistant in Fareham to join our independent catering team. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, helping chefs, preparing fresh ingredients, and ensuring high standards of service and cleanliness.

We value team players with a passion for great food, strong English communication, and the ability to follow brand standards while supporting a busy kitchen environment. Free parking is available at this location.

Job description

An independent, coeducational, day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 3 years to 13 years situated in Fareham. We cater for about 250 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of Breakfast, Lunch and Supper. We have about 25 boarders at this location. This location operates Monday to Friday and has an additional benefit of free parking.

• To work well in a team, providing food and a great service
• To produce food for service using fresh ingredients, cooking from scratch and following the companies brand standards
• Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.
• Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.

You will have previous experience of working within a fast-paced kitchen as a Kitchen Assistant.

You will be excited to work with fresh seasonal ingredients & regularly changing bespoke menus. You will be creative and have the opportunity to showcase your skillset.

• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
• Excellent customer service skills
• Great team player
• Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep

Knowledge / competencies:

• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
• Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred.
