Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for our independent, contract catering service in Fareham/Titchfield. This part-time, permanent role offers a supportive team and free parking.

You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, handle food prep from fresh ingredients, and support chefs while upholding hygiene standards. Previous kitchen experience and customer-service passion are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Follow Food Hygiene, Health & Safety policies and allergen controls.
• Pot wash duties would be an advantage.
• Be a great team player.
• Assist Chefs with food preparation.

Contract: Part Time , Permanent
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Hours: 15.45 per week

An independent, coeducational, day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 3 years to 13 years situated in Fareham. We cater for about 250 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of Breakfast, Lunch and Supper. We have about 25 boarders at this location. This location operates Monday to Friday and has an additional benefit of free parking.

We are looking for a talented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at one of our fabulous locations in Titchfield.

You will have previous experience of working within a fast-paced kitchen as a Kitchen Assistant.

You will be excited to work with fresh seasonal ingredients & regularly changing bespoke menus. You will be creative and have the opportunity to showcase your skillset.

Key responsibilities:

• To work well in a team, providing food and a great service
• To produce food for service using fresh ingredients, cooking from scratch and following the companies brand standards
• Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.
• Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.
• Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
• Great team player
• Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep

You will have the following skills:

• A genuine interest in food & excellent customer service

• An organised Kitchen Assistant with attention to detail
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
