Job summary

Agincare is seeking a Kitchen Assistant / Laundry Assistant in Swanage to join our care team. You will support the kitchen, assist with laundry tasks, and help provide balanced meals while considering dietary needs. The role emphasizes hygiene, COSHH compliance, and resident engagement within a compassionate care environment.

Experience in kitchens is essential, and you’ll work 30 hours per week with opportunities for training and progression as part of the Agincare family.

• Previous experience in a kitchen setting is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the chef to create healthy, balanced meals and snacks, and ensuring a good understanding of various dietary requirements and allergens
• Ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained in the kitchen area, with good levels of hygiene particularly in line with COSHH regulations and health and safety protocols
• Work as a team player, but have the ability to lone work when needed, effectively managing your time
• Offer support, communication and engagement to the residents
• Additionally to these tasks you will be required to assist with the laundry

About You

You don't have to have worked in care before, a previous role in a different catering environment is great for someone willing to learn. We'd like you to have some prior knowledge of food safety and COSHH. You will be a caring, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who is able to show empathy to the needs of others.
