Job summary

Agincare Group in Burnham-on-Sea is seeking a reliable, passionate Kitchen Assistant to join our health and social care team. You will support the chef, help prepare healthy meals, and ensure cleanliness and hygiene in line with COSHH and health and safety protocols.

You do not need prior care experience; food safety knowledge and a caring, proactive attitude are valued. The role requires a minimum 12 months right to work in the UK and some flexibility on shifts.

Qualifications

• Able to work as part of a team and lone-working when required.
• Willingness to learn and adapt within health and social care.

A day in the life of a Kitchen Assistant

• Support the chef to create healthy/balanced meals and snacks, ensuring a good understanding of various dietary requirements and allergens.
• Ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained in the kitchen area, with good levels of hygiene particularly in line with COSHH regulations and health & safety protocols.
• Work as a team player, but have the ability to lone work when needed, effectively managing your time.
• Offer support, communication and engagement to the residents.

About You

You don't have to have worked in care before; a previous role in a different catering environment is great for someone willing to learn. We'd like you to have some prior knowledge of food safety and COSHH. You will be a caring, self‑motivated and enthusiastic individual who is able to show empathy to the needs of others.
