Job summary

Maki & Ramen in Manchester is seeking an experienced and adaptable Kitchen Assistant to help launch our new site. The role is full-time, with a weekly schedule of 45–50 hours and pay between £12.71 and £13.00 per hour, with tips.

You will support chefs with food prep, keep the kitchen clean, manage stock, and uphold hygiene standards. Prior kitchen experience is a plus, but not required, and training will be provided as we grow.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene and safety.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Good physical stamina and time management.
• Quick learner with attention to detail.
• Previous kitchen experience (a plus, not required).
• Food safety certification (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Support chefs with food prep (chopping, washing, etc.).
• Keep kitchen areas clean and organized.
• Assist with stock rotation and ingredient storage.
• Wash dishes and sanitize equipment.
• Dispose of waste properly and follow hygiene standards.
• Restock supplies as needed during service.
