Job summary

Maki & Ramen is launching a new site in Grays and seeks an experienced Kitchen Assistant to support chefs with prep, hygiene, storage, and service. You will help maintain a clean, organized kitchen and contribute to a smooth operation during busy shifts.

As part of the team, you will work 45-50 hours per week with a competitive salary plus tips, and be part of a vibrant, expanding dining brand known for quality ramen and fresh sushi.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene and safety
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Good physical stamina and time management
• Quick learner with attention to detail
• Previous kitchen experience (a plus, not required)
• Food safety certification (if applicable)

Responsibilities

• Support chefs with food prep (chopping, washing, etc.)
• Keep kitchen areas clean and organized
• Assist with stock rotation and ingredient storage
• Wash dishes and sanitize equipment
• Dispose of waste properly and follow hygiene standards
• Restock supplies as needed during service

Pay Rate: £12.71 - £13.00 (typical earnings up to £14-£15 with tips)
