Job summary

Hamberley Care Homes’ Alston House in Kingsley, Hampshire, is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support daily kitchen operations, plan and serve meals, and ensure high hygiene standards for residents in a luxury care home setting.

Responsibilities

• Support Chefs in planning and providing high-quality meals meeting residents’ dietary needs
• Plan, prepare and serve balanced meals with appropriate portions
• Ensure all food meets Hygiene Standards and safe work methods
• Manage stocks and storage, with proper labeling and rotation
• Maintain fridge temperature records and other hygiene documentation

What you'll be doing

• Supporting the Chefs in the planning and provision of high-quality meals that meet the nutritional and dietary requirements of our residents
• Planning, preparing, and serving balanced meals that meet dietary requirements
• Ensuring all food prepared meets Food Hygiene Standards and that safe methods of work are always used
• Managing all stocks and stores, ensuring all food is correctly marked and stock rotation systems are in place
• Maintaining accurate records to satisfy food hygiene requirements such as fridge temperature checks
