Job summary

Hamberley Care Homes is seeking a Kitchen Assistant at Meryton Place, a luxury care home offering residential, dementia and nursing care for older people. You will support the chefs, plan and serve nutritious meals, and uphold Food Hygiene Standards while managing stocks and temperature records.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar catering role, ideally in a care or similar environment.
  • Commitment to customer care and first-class service.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations.

  • Can-do flexible team worker with a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Support chefs in planning and provision of high-quality meals meeting nutritional requirements.
  • Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals that meet dietary requirements.
  • Ensure all food meets Food Hygiene Standards and safe working methods are used.
  • Manage stocks and stores with correct labelling and stock rotation.
  • Maintain fridge temperature records to satisfy hygiene requirements.

What you'll be doing
  • Supporting the Chefs in the planning and provision of high-quality meals that meet the nutritional and dietary requirements of our residents
  • Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals that meet dietary requirements
  • To ensure all food prepared meets Food Hygiene Standards and ensure that safe methods of work are always used
  • Manage all stocks and stores ensuring all food is correctly marked and stock rotation systems are in place
  • To maintain accurate records to satisfy food hygiene requirement such as fridge temperature checks
