Job summary

Hamberley Care Homes in Dorking Manor, Surrey, seeks a Kitchen Assistant to support our luxury care home kitchen and help deliver nutritious meals for residents. You’ll work with a committed team devoted to compassionate, high-quality care and follow strict hygiene standards.

• Proven experience in a similar catering role, ideally in a care setting.

Responsibilities

• Support chefs in planning and providing high-quality meals meeting dietary needs.
• Plan, prepare and serve balanced meals meeting dietary requirements.
• Ensure all food meets Hygiene Standards and safe methods of work are used.
• Manage stocks and stores with correct labeling and rotation.
• Maintain fridge temperature checks and hygiene records.

What you'll be doing

• Supporting the Chefs in the planning and provision of high-quality meals that meet the nutritional and dietary requirements of our residents
• Plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals that meet dietary requirements
• To ensure all food prepared meets Food Hygiene Standards and ensure that safe methods of work are always used
• Manage all stocks and stores ensuring all food is correctly marked and stock rotation systems are in place
• To maintain accurate records to satisfy food hygiene requirement such as fridge temperature checks
