Job summary

Westgate Healthcare in Aylesbury is seeking a friendly Kitchen Assistant to join our care team. You will prepare meals, present dishes to a high standard, and ensure meals are served at the correct temperature.

You’ll help with meal prep, receive deliveries, and rotate stock in line with COSHH and safety guidelines. Shifts 8am-4pm or 10am-6pm, 32 hours per week, with weekend uplift. We offer induction, training, and staff discounts.

• Accept and process kitchen deliveries and rotate stock
• Wash crockery, cutlery, and kitchen equipment
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas per COSHH
• Follow health and safety guidelines
• Support care staff to cater to residents’ meal preferences
• Carry out reasonable requests from Home Manager or Head Chef

About The Role

About the role:

• £12.71 per hour, plus 50p p/h weekend enhancement

• 32 hrs per week

• Shifts: 8am - 4pm / 10am - 6pm, 4 shifts a week

• Serving meals, ensuring they are presented to a high standard and at the correct temperature

• Support in the Kitchen with the preparation of meals

• Accept and process kitchen deliveries, ensuring correct storage and inventory rotation

• Assist in washing crockery, cutlery, cooking and serving utensils and kitchen equipment

• Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas in accordance with COSHH regulations

• Ensuring that all health and safety guidelines are strictly followed

• Work closely with care staff to accommodate residents’ individual meal preferences

• Carry out any reasonable request or instruction from the Home Manager or Head Chef
