Job summary

HC-One are seeking an Assistant Chef to join our care home team. You will cook nutritious meals, follow recipes precisely, and present dishes attractively while maintaining high hygiene standards.

You will support the First Chef and step in when needed, manage stock and budget, and help train colleagues in a caring, respectful environment. The role emphasises kindness, resident wellbeing, and professional development within HC-One’s supportive, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate required.
• Solid understanding of HACCP principles.
• Organised, deadline-driven, good recipe execution.
• Friendly and respectful communication with Residents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Cook and serve nutritious meals for Residents.
• Support the First Chef and cover in their absence.
• Manage food stock and budget usage.
• Coach a colleague and supervise kitchen clean-up with Resident wellbeing in mind.
