Job summary

Trust Education Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Year 1 Class Teacher to cover a maternity leave in a Mansfield primary school. You will lead a Year 1 class, delivering engaging lessons, supporting early reading, and collaborating with a supportive teaching team.

The role is suitable for an experienced teacher or an ECT seeking a longer-term position. You will work with parents and colleagues to foster pupil progress and well-being.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS or is an ECT working towards QTS.
• Experience teaching within a primary school setting.
• Strong understanding of phonics and early reading.
• Experience in EYFS or KS1 is desirable.
• Confident planning and delivering engaging lessons.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

Trust Education are currently working with a fantastic primary school in Mansfield who are looking for a dedicated teacher to join their team as a Year 1 Class Teacher, covering a maternity leave.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher, or an ECT looking to take on their first longer-term teaching position, to join a friendly school and make a real difference to a class of enthusiastic young learners.

The Role:

• Taking full responsibility for a Year 1 class
• Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons
• Supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development
• Working closely with the wider teaching team
• Monitoring and assessing pupils' progress
• Creating a positive and nurturing classroom environment
• Supporting children as they develop their independence and confidence
• Working closely with parents, carers and colleagues where required

Phonics Experience is Essential

As a Year 1 teacher, the successful candidate must have a good understanding of phonics and be confident delivering phonics lessons.

Experience with a recognised phonics programme would be highly desirable, although teachers with strong phonics knowledge and experience will also be considered.
