Job summary

Vision Teaching is assisting a thriving primary school in Ilford, Redbridge, in recruiting a Year 1 teacher for a maternity cover from January to July 2027. The role is full-time and requires QTS with strong classroom practice.

ECTs are not being considered; you will work within a warm, supportive team to raise standards, manage behaviour effectively, and deliver high-quality phonics and early curriculum teaching.

Qualifications

• QTS is required and UK classroom experience is preferred.
• Strong behaviour management and knowledge of the National Curriculum.
• Excellent phonics knowledge and Year 1 teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team as a Year 1 Teacher.
• Raise standards for all pupils, including underachieving learners.
• Promote positive behaviour conducive to learning and raise standards.
• Observe and assess children's progress and provide feedback.
• Contribute to wider school initiatives as a Year 1 Teacher.
• Carry out all responsibilities as a Year 1 Teacher.
