Job summary

Trust Education Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Year 1 Class Teacher to cover a maternity leave in a Mansfield primary school. You will lead a Year 1 class, delivering engaging lessons, supporting early reading, and collaborating with a supportive teaching team.

The role is suitable for an experienced teacher or an ECT seeking a longer-term position. You will work with parents and colleagues to foster pupil progress and well-being.

Qualifications

• Holds QTS or is an ECT working towards QTS.
• Experience teaching within a primary school setting.
• Strong understanding of phonics and early reading.
• Experience in EYFS or KS1 is desirable.
• Confident planning and delivering engaging lessons.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for a Year 1 class.
• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons.
• Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
• Work closely with the wider teaching team.
• Monitor and assess pupils' progress.
• Create a positive and nurturing classroom environment.
• Support children as they develop independence and confidence.
• Collaborate with parents, carers and colleagues as required.
