Job summary

Loungers is hiring a Junior Sous Chef for Croeso Lounge, a brand-new site in the group’s opening team. You’ll assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef, help ensure every dish leaves the pass to the highest standard, and grow into a senior kitchen role through structured training and career pathways.

Qualifications

• You’ll likely be an existing Junior Sous Chef, or an experienced Chef de Partie or Senior Chef seeking the next step.
• You are a reliable team member who shows up on time and gives your best when on shift.
• Experience with fresh ingredients and strong kitchen skills (hot and cold prep, cleaning, knife skills, hygiene) are required.
• You are a self-motivated, fast worker who can operate with limited supervision.
• Strong knowledge of allergen handling, kitchen essentials, and food safety is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver great shifts and ensure prep is ready and dishes go out to spec.
• Maintain a clean, well-organised kitchen and uphold high food standards every shift.
• Own your section, manage prep, par, cleanliness, hygiene and food safety at all times.
• Follow allergen processes and keep the kitchen compliant and safe.
• Support and mentor newer chefs to develop skills and confidence.
• Know dish specs inside out and ensure every plate leaves the kitchen proudly.
