Job summary

The Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club in Birmingham is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to join a busy kitchen team. You will work under the Head Chef to ensure high-quality food production and presentation, with daily operational and people management duties.

Key responsibilities include developing dishes, assisting with food purchases, mentoring junior chefs, and upholding cleanliness, hygiene and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• You must have the right to work in the UK.
• Experience in fast-paced venues with high service standards.
• Ability to manage a kitchen team and control costs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef to develop new dishes and menus.
• Assist the Head Chef in food purchases while controlling costs.
• Prepare, cook and present dishes within your speciality.
• Support, mentor and train junior chefs in the brigade.
• Maintain highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety.
