Job summary

Daventry Metal Products Ltd. is seeking an ambitious engineer to join our growing manufacturing team in Daventry.

You will help configure, document, and optimise production processes for existing lines and NPI projects, and you will design and maintain SOPs, process controls, and packaging documentation. The role requires a strong foundation in engineering, the ability to read technical drawings, CAD modelling (SolidWorks), and exposure to CNC machining, laser cutting, and tooling design.

Qualifications

• HNC (or higher) in Engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• Strong English and Maths skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with CNC programming/machining and laser cutting is desirable.
• Experience with PPAP and NPI processes is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Configure, document, and optimise manufacturing processes for existing lines and NPI projects.
• Create, maintain SOPs, process controls, and packaging documentation.
• Support NPI processes including PPAP and establish BOMs/BOOs in the ERP system.
• Provide hands-on coaching to shop-floor operators.
• Assist sourcing, introduction, and commissioning of new machinery, fixtures, and tooling.
• Support root-cause non-conformance investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Collect, test, and analyse process data to identify bottlenecks and boost throughput.
